The link below is to a movie trailer for an upcoming marathon documentary "Land of the Gods: The Legend of the Marathon". According to information on the filmmakers website, it is scheduled for release in Summer 2006. "Feature-Length Documentary which will follow a cross section of four individuals training for and running the 2005 LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon. While spending a period of four to five months learning about each character, the history of the marathon unfolds. From its origins in literature and the Modern Olympic Games to Kenyan Paul Tergats phenomenal world record, significant milestones in the event are recounted by the worlds greatest marathoners. The race is presented as both a unique spectacle as well as an empowering event, which represents extreme personal triumph". When you go to the site, you'll be shown the second of two trailers for the movie. When you're done, you can click the "Films" link at the bottom of the page, then the "Land of the Gods" icon, to view Trailer 1 and/or a PDF file with background information. If the finished product is as good as the trailers, we're in for a real treat! Here is the website: http://www.calico1880.com/
