Subject: shoes for 210 pound runner

Hi Runners -- I'd appreciate your recommendations for good running shoes for
me, a 210 pound male runner who has a normal gait -- I race 5k's and my long
runs are only 5 miles -- Thanks -- Al

Would recommend stopping by at a running store to make sure you get something
appropriate. "Normal gait" isn't that informative, you need a discerning eye
to know what to look for. All brands have several models that are well suited
to heavier runners. The main two variables are the fit (varies by brand) and
the amount of "stability" (torsional rigidity, usually a result of stiffer
rubber on the medial side of the arch)

Cheers,

Al,

I weigh in at 205-210.....6'2"

I rarely run 5 miles. 3 miles is more like it. but I do it at least 2-3
times a week with at least 1 mile runs in between. I just turned 60.

I wear the Asics 1120 gel. I really do like them, good arch support, a
wide woe box. very comfortable shoes. about $80

Phil

Phil, Thanks for suggestion. I've had good luck with Asics and will look
into 1120 gel. Al
