Subject: question to the ultras..

Hi "ultras"..

I have tried to do some "long" "time on feet" trainings in the spring but
they burned me completely out.... I think now that even though I (thought)
I was running slow I was running WAY to fast! I'm a RUNNER (want to run
fast feel the heart and lungs work; the legs fly!).

A few weeks ago I arranged a meeting in a forrest/park an hour from my home
with a friend to do an hour and an half w. him. Included my run out and
back I ended up w. ~3 hours. The difference here and the spring was that I
was forced to run much slower than I normally would do (he had a
hangover :-) ).
When I came home I was so fresh that I was running up and down the stairs in
the house all day....
After that I have forced my time on feet speed down!

My question is now.... After I have found my "ultrapace" (~5.30-5.45/K) I
have had this funny "sideeffect" that the day after a 3-3½ hours run I just
have this desire to race FAST (and lucky enough I have had the legs to do
it)... How can that be after a 3½ hour run????????

TIA
