Subject: What injury is this?

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. I was 5 miles into a run today when I noticed that the top of my right foot felt a bit painful. It seemed like maybe my shoes were too tight. I stopped and loosened them. When I started to run again, I had an incredible flash of pain on top of my foot, somewhere near the middle, about an inch from the inside. I stopped and stretched, tried again and the same sharp, stabbing pain. I can walk OK- no pain. But no running. What's up? Any ideas? Thanks, Brian

Well, the 185,000 sore feet posts here every month might be a clue that jogging causes foot pain..........allegedly.
