Google trend is neat. For the Nike haters, you will need to hate
harder, they are still the most popular by far. Nope, I don't use them,
just rustling some feathers. ;)

Maybe because the majority of Nike wearers aren't wearing them for
anything other than a fashion statement.

"running"
like you see for "gyms". Gyms peaks on New Years and again in the
late
spring. I thought running would be similar.

Put me in the minority, then. As for cushioning, I have never found
anything that compares to the Nike air ride. I love it.

Puma, even more so.

Although I've got two pair of Nikes and one of Puma in my rotation,
because they're just terrific shoes in which to run.
