Subject: [Running Shoes] Remember by question about Mizunos?

Well I finally got an hour to go buy my Mizuna(1) Wave Riders (as seen on
this channel :-)

I took a half day off work to go to the shop which had given the vouchers.
I had 2 x 40 + 1 x 20 euro(2) = 100 euro (as announced by the "Boulevards
de Colomiers" organisers, who organised the prize draw) unless that too
has changed since I went to school.

The race organisers said "100euros towards 1 (ONE) pair of Mizuno shoes.
OK - at least up until I got into the shop and chose the shoes (which feel
reeeeeeeeeeeel good, no shit).

Unfortunately, the Mizuno vouchers were not cumulative (is that a real
word?) - I was allowed 1x40 + 1x40 + 1x20 off THREE pairs of Mizuno
pumps... who needs 3 pairs of hundred++ dollar shoes at the same time,
with one month to redeem?

[Aparté Before anyone gets snotty, I will gladly forgoe any prize if it
will help the organisers, cos I know they're a bunch of regular guys. I
just don't like getting fucked about]

Now I don't give a flying fart about the value of the prize - I was just
happy to have had my bib drawn, whatever the prize.

But to have had to go to a particular shop, before the 17th ober, only
to find that the 2x40+20 means I had to buy 3 pairs of shoes if I wanted
to redeem the full prize value, was a bit shitty - and I am holding back.

The shop and the race directors have to sort it out but either way (and
I'm sure neither of them will try to telephone me, cos they don't have my
number :-O), I ain't got no sexy Mizuno running pumps... despite the
totally sexy feel of those Wave Riders... hmmmmmmmyummmmmm

(1) I wanted females ("a" ending) not males ("o" ending) but I don't speek
the leengo

(2)I said euros so y'all knew it wasn't a track session.

Ah, Steve, good luck is like happiness: it is intended to be shared and
it is much better when it is shared:-)

OTOH it doesn't strike me as good business sense to act obnoxiously
when a new customer actually walks in: if he is as happy with the shoes
and the service as any good sports shop owner should expect, he is
quite likely to return to buy a second and a third pair and probably
something he doesn't yet think he needs.

(But we must remember that this is France where the right of the people
employed in the service and retail trade to exclaim "Ah non, Monsieur!"
as brusquely as they wish is recognized in the constitution.)

FWIW I'm not sure that there really is a female ending for Japanese
words. But did you want females because you preferred the colour
combination or because you have narrow feet - or is it just that you
like to think of your running shoes as female the way some people view
their car or their guitar?
