You really can't effectively killfile someone who is completely
determined to spend as much time as it takes to evade killfiles. Once
you get to the anon remailers with questionable policies it is really
hard to pin them down and the NNTP isn't much help in this regard.
This group and MFW pretty much point up why Usenet effectively died.
It really only takes one severely disturbed person to raise the noise
level to the point where only whitelists work. But if you're going to
the point of whitelists you might as well just move to web forums.
Web forums are hardly invulnerable but most were built from the ground
up with emotionally disturbed people in mind. Usenet was not designed
at all to deal with the .001% who will dedicate their life to posting
garbage.
So in essence there isn't anything that can be done other than
rewriting the NNTP from the ground up. Actually, that probably isn't
true. If someone could get the attention of the Usenet Cabal they
could probably do something ;-)
