I wasn't knocking the cause but knocking the method of reaching people, yeah it "only cost'em some key strokes and you never know what comes back when you send out signals." but still are they realy going about it the best way? Based on my marketing classes from school no.

runsrealfast & Kaz, the OP is searching high & low and putting out a clarion call to & for a local/regional good thing. if they reached 1 person, it only cost'em some key strokes and you never know what comes back when you send out signals. both of you should consider yourself fortunate to not have to come face to face w/the cause at hand w/people in your lives. if you want to rip on the ng, rip on someone who can fight back, like me.

As much as I like to bust on my pal Lance, I have to agree with him. The race for the cause is a worthy effort for cancer. -DF

Definitely. I'll be running (well, run-walking) in the 1-mile event in the Phoenix Komen Race on 8th.

runsrealfast is right. 999 out of 1000 joggers here are "guys" ..............who already dress in pink from head to toe, "and don't care".

I'm a white male who thinks he's white. My black neighbors treat me like I'm one of the gang. One lady keeps asking if I want some brown sugar even though she knows I don't bake. I don't know if she thinks she's white or she thinks I'm black. Maybe I even have a sistah. WTF ???

It seems to me I heard somewhere that claudia wrote in article <1160087504.712943.56830@k70g2000cwa.googlegroups.com >: >The Melting Pot in Irvine is hosting a "Passionately Pink Dinner" >at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, ober 9th, and could use some help from Race >For the Cure, Avon Walk and Susan G. From some of the comments I gather that some of those reading this don't know the significance of wearing pink. It's not about appearing feminine or like a girly man; at least in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure that I've been in, it was the custom to wear pink (especially ribbons and caps) if you've beaten breast cancer (and men get it too, don't forget). And it is a big deal. My mother and most of her sisters died from it long before there was early diagnosis or effective treatment. -- Don Kirkman
