I've noticed that in the past few weeks, my everyday shoes feel looser than the used to feel. I doubt that they've stretched. And no, I'm not trolling.

My feet are a bit smaller after a run, too. I assume it's dehydration. You might be reducing your body fat content (even if your weight remains the same). There's sufficient fat padding on the underside of the foot to make a difference as you get lean and mean. That's my guess, anyway...

I've lost about ten pounds in the past six or seven weeks. Thanks.

Intellect, yes. Dignity, yes. List of friends, yes. Foot size, no.

Feet do temporarily shrink a tiny bit while running. A tight shoe can feel more loose after a run. And the shoes stretch after use. I'm sorry BR, your shoe size is not any evidence of reduced body fat. Now if you told me that you hat was getting loose, I might reconsider the theory.

More people in this newsgroup have reported larger shoe sizes in the first year. Yours is the first I recall about shrinking. But I suppose it could go both ways.

Your feet may be swelling less, with the increased circulation and intense sweating. And because the develpment of fine muscles in your foot, the form of your foot may become more refined, thusly, fitting into some show with a better fit, more streamlined. Further, if you are improving your cardio fitness in a radical way, your heart may be better at reducing lower-limb fluid accumulation, which occurs more often in sedentary people. In general, you have a healthier foot now (as long as it is not injured).

When I started running, I was overweight by a couple hundred pounds and, as time went on, I noticed that I went from a size 13 shoe to a size 12 oddly enough. It appears to be the "type" of person doing the running. Some people have feet that react differently, I'm sure.
