Which one is better? I am looking for: - arch support - durability - motion control - I probably overpronate as I have a flattish foot Any thoughts on the two? Regards

You can always google and/or check www.roadrunnersports.com for reviews. IMO the most you'll get from other people's reviews is to weed out obvious clunkers that almost nobody likes, or that tend to fall apart too soon. Beyond that, maybe one of these fits your feet - e.g. the widths of your forefeet and your heels, the location of your arch, etc. - really well and the other one not at all. Maybe one will work pretty well with your running motion and the other won't. These individual things which we can't predict are IMO a lot more important than model A tends to break down 10% earlier than model B. And if you have no idea whether you overpronate, I'd suggest your odds are better (though by no means 100%, depending on the store and the specific person who helps you) going to a good specialty running store to get help determining your needs than relying on the flat foot thing. My feet are pretty flat, and I prefer and seem to do OK in neutral to very mildly stable shoes. Will this be your first pair of running shoes, or do you have any sort of history of what does and doesn't work for you?

Thanks that is sage advice. I've had a pair of Asics Koji GS most recently and they were really compfortable and I did well with them. I think thye were stability / motion control. Forgotten, and they're not available any more. I think I'll make a trip to a store and find out. They're bith rated pretty high by runners world as motion control shoes, and within my price range. roadrunnersports says a little about the NB, but not much about the Asics

I too have a flat foot and tend to overpronate. I checked the runnersworld website and found the New Balance 766 to be rated very high for stability control. They cost around $90 in Sports Authority but managed to pick them up while on sale for $65 and got last years edition, (New Balance 765), for $22 which was on clearance and last one in my size. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Had I paid full price for this pair I still would be a happy camper. Made a big difference for me. Now I have happy feet, (and knees and legs, etc.).
