Any feedback on after the Leaves have fallen 20k, umm.. Doug?
I was thinking about running it but am not interested in another mud
fest. Is there likely to be a mud hangover from the latest precipitation
we're having?

I don't know if Ms. Schiffer mentioned it but there were snow flurries
flying during the second half of the Hairy Gorilla last Sunday.

It's one of my favorite races. Minnewaska and Awosting are spectacular
lakes and the trails are well drained and dry

I got the general rundown and I'll get the details during ATL.

For me one, picture can replace a "race report".

Due west of my place. Well mostly west and a little bit south.

How are you going to work the lap around Minnewaska at the end? ;)

One foot in front of the other.

Great race all on carriage roads in Minnewaska. Carriage roads are
graded mostly gravel and stone affairs. To a true cross country runner
they are a bit like running on the road. To a road runner they are a
bit like trail running. Everything is well drained. There is one
stretch around Lake Awosting where you'll find more trail like
conditions for perhaps 1 mile but hardly a mud fest.

I'll be there if you make it up.

FWIW, I'm definitely going to be there. This is my recovery phase of
running so I plan to go out easy, get up the hill(about 2.5 - 3 miles)
and then work the undulation part just a little.

It's south for me and I'm further south of Parker.

That is the answer I give when people ask me how I run.

"Don't tie your shoes together then right foot, left foot, right foot,
left foot....."

Sorry, but I always start on the left foot; 22-plus years in the army
ingrained that habit in me.
